Ignoring Me ?

Do you ever want to talk to someone really bad, but you're at war with yourself because you don't want to annoy them? Yeah, me, too. Eventually you give in, you text them and get nothing back after a long time, if at all; it hurts, right? Especially when you know that they're the kind of person who always has their phone attached to their hip. Being ignored sucks. Sometimes you just want to go full stalker mode and talk to their friends, find out what they're doing, why they aren't texting you. It's a girl thing. Or maybe it's just me and I'm some kind of stalker freak, I don't know. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who's felt the sting of being ignored by someone whom you really want to talk to.

One of the worst feelings is when they initiate hanging out with you sometime earlier that week or even earlier in the day, and then when it comes time to when they wanted to hang out, they suddenly fall off the face of the earth. No amount of texts or phone calls will work. You're sitting there pouting because you got your hopes up and your makeup all done. You go back into that vicious circle of internally beating yourself up because you want to keep texting them, hoping they'll take the necessary 30 seconds to type out a response. That's what I don't understand: unless you're asleep or at work where you can't have a phone out or something along those lines, I doubt anyone is so busy all day long that they can't take a simple 30 seconds to a minute, at most, to at least say hey. Men, I swear. They just don't get it.

Another issue is when you're hanging out with a friend, and they're constantly texting their significant other. The catch is, when they're hanging out with said other, obviously they're "way too busy" to text you, right? Wrong. That's total bullshit in my opinion. And, quite frankly, it's really inconsiderate. Why even hang out if you're just going to be talking to a billion other people, but then ignore everyone else when you're with that one "special" person? I realize the person they're with might not appreciate them texting either, but why should they think it's okay to do one thing to one person or not the other? It's just not fair. I hope some of you can relate to my little ranting session.

Blondes Taknig over the hair world !

You have the blondes, the strawberry blondes, the dirty blondes, the platinum blondes, and every once in a while, the brunettes.  But the real rarities are the gingers, with their beautiful fiery hair, frequently accompanied by a full face of freckles. Because carrot tops are so uncommon, they’re almost considered a different species of human. Unfortunately, everyone secretly wants to be a redhead and is terribly jealous of all carrot tops. To make generic hair colored people feel better about themselves, non-gingers try to make fun of gingers in an effort to lower ginger self-esteem as a collective.
There are all sorts of jokes about gingers: “Gingers don’t have souls”, “Gingers are all virgins”, “Gingers are vampires”, etc. But in reality, redheads lead extremely successful lives. The best example would obviously be the angel that is Ed Sheeran, but there are many other familiar names like Emma Stone, Ariel the mermaid, Rupert Grint, Lucille Ball (from I Love Lucy), Elton John, Shaun White, Sam Gray, pre-rehab Lindsey Lohan, and the gorgeous, if a little reckless, Prince Harry. To further prove my point, I would like to point out that many celebrities like Reba and Emma Stone even dye their hair red to try and gain some of the appeal that carrot tops naturally posses.
Artificially dyed red hair may or may gain you some charm, but naturally born gingers still have the upper hand. Anyone who’s ever seen a ginger baby knows that they are the single most precious things ever known to mankind. I’m not sure if it’s the Cheeto colored fluff on top of their soft egg-shaped heads or the faint freckles speckling their entire bodies but there’s something about ginger babies that just make you want to hold them forever and love all their red-headed perfection.
In all honesty, I think it’s cruel and unfair that the gene for having an orange-haired child is biologically recessive. The chances for having a ginger baby nowadays are so low that the ginger population of the world is noticeably decreasing. This is obviously one of the biggest problems we as humans have encountered since the ice ages. Personally, I think we should stop worrying about global warming and the fiscal cliff and instead focus on mating redheads and producing more and more ginger babies. If we don’t, we might have to see the day where the ginger population is completely wiped out. And you know that’s not good for the emotional wellbeing of all us generic hair-colored folks.

Sweat and Sour

Life obviously isn’t perfect, things rarely ever are. But sometimes it’s the little things that get to us, and make us wonder why the world is so against us. Like what the fuck did I ever do to you, world, to make you hate me so much?!

The case in point in this situation is positive and negative people. In reality, we meet a lot of people and we ether like them or don’t. It’s just that simple now a day for people. Most people have personal preference to what they find in a friend and what they look for but, and a completely different story. But back to the main point-  most people are nice and sweat but not all I mean I really don’t like negative people like really they shouldn’t really be giving anyone stress. But unfortunately they often have the potential to do so, usually in our everyday lifes depending on the situations.
You’re probably asking yourself, yes! I know lots of people that are very negative and possibly have enough goddamn power to ruin your day and give you anxiety? Either that or you’re wondering why you’re wasting your time reading this rather pointless blog when there are so many more useful ways you could be spending your time. But let me tell you, one of the most annoying things ever, and I do mean EVER is when those same people pretend to be your friend when they see you somewhere outside of school or if they don’t have anyone to talk to.

Okay so I probably sound like a shallow bitch but it happens to everyone and you know that it’s true don’t deny it. Like how could I possibly care so much about what people think of me and act towards me, when there are skinny children starving to death in Africa? But I’m just going to ask you to kindly not judge me until this situation happens to you. Put yourself in my shoes for a second: you have that one friend that is always telling mean thing and tell you that they hate when you are positive and always smiling. You would want to not be friends and not have anything to do with them.

I think to myself all the time “How does this happen?!”, like everyone else doesn’t really case they are too full of themselves. If this has ever happened to you before, you have my deepest sympathies. How’s a hygienic person to survive? There’s nothing you can do, except to forgive and forget and hope that you can make a better friendship or just simply get out of it as soon as possible.

Marten Luther King Jr: What it takes to be a leader

When it comes to leadership, Martin Luther King Jr was a very strong and wonderful leader when I think about him. His strengths were to motivate people in to nonviolence acts so that, some others were that he was very committed, had a good work ethic, listening, open mind, organization and teamwork skills. He is one of my Ideals and I feel that I share some of the same leadership strangest as him. I have recently been horned the MLK (Martian Luther King) award at my school. I’m not writing this blog to boast about my awards or achievements. But to make people understand that it does not take much to be leader and that anyone and everyone is a leader.
One strength a leader could have is motivation others and themselves. Having an open mind about others and myself is a big part of my everyday life, it is one of my best leadership strengths. Being committed is one was to succeed in life (that’s what I’ve always been told). I think that if you are committed and put your mind to what you want you will see the outcome. Martin Luther was one of the most committed persons I know that know what he wanted and did what he spoke. Being a good listener, which may not same like a strength but it is, makes you more accessible to good teamwork skills Martin Luther King was a great example of a person with a good work ethic. He made sure that everything he did he worked hard and never gave up. I think that having a strong work ethic and being organized is very important in my everyday life and that having a good work ethic will help me become a better leader.

I’m not as awesome or big leader as Martian Luther King Jr was but I do think that by being more motivated of what decisions, I’m making and having an open mind about it helps me pick out the pros and cons of the decision so I can pick the best one and eliminate all the others. One of my weakness as a person and I know we all have them is that, I have is over thinking of situations. One way I have use my strengths to help me improve is by having an open mind and organizing my thoughts to help me become more relaxed about the situation so I can have a better outcome.

I think that any leadership skills will impact anyone future by helping them in my career. The career I want to go into will involve most of my leadership skill. That may not be yours but you can find what strengths and pick which skill you need for you future job. Being organized would also help you to keep things in check and streamline things in the workplace. Having an open mind and teamwork skills will help you achieve my targets and goals for work. Commitment and listening are also good skills for any career. Being motivated will also help you learn to identify problem areas at work and handle them to create an enjoyable atmosphere that's conducive for work.

I hope you can identify some of your leadership skills and work at the ones you need to improve on. We are all leaders in our own way and it does not take people to know if you are one or not. Just keep an open mind and always be committed to anything and everything and you will get far.

Improving Pollution in Cedar Rapids

Report: Wetlands can curb pollution/Measures needed to control runoff
The Gazette, Thursday, October 31, 2013.

I read this article is about Iowa wants to construct wetlands to help Iowa cities and towns will help them manage storm runoff from far field. It will also help “improve aesthetics and expand recreational opportunities” say co- author  E. Arthur Bettis , a University of Iowa student that helped with the report on constructing of wetland in Iowa.  By constructing a wetland it won’t solve the problem say David Osterberg, the Iowa Policy Project’s funding director, but will help it a little bit and stop some of the pollutants in Iowa waters. By constructing these wetlands one in Tipton Iowa and three in Iowa City will manage the runoff. In the end this will stop some of the down streaming from other countries near Iowa.

The article is local, because it talks about how wetlands will help Iowa pollution of runoff into other waters and then travels to estuaries that will go into the ocean.  This article is very important too, because it is informing you about what planes will be taken to take steps on stopping water pollutants form runoff from farms that contributes nitrogen and phosphorus in Iowa waters. By informing use about this problem it is also helping stop other problems like affecting the recent climate shift that will bring more rainfall and by going through with this project it will help control runoff.

The stakeholder in this article is everybody, because this can affect us in Iowa and people that live in other counties. This is not a gain for anyone but a lose, because by polluting the water we may drink and that goes in there lakes and rivers can destroy the organisms living in the water. It will also have an impact on humans because it will be affecting the organisms that give us natural resource and services. The people in this article perceive this as a very important issue and that if we don’t start taking action we will have more environmental problem that will be cause because of use polluting the waters. By use bring a wetland it will help bring more biodiversity and help stop the problem a little. By doing this it will help the enlivenment, which is one thing that will be gain by bring in the wetlands.

I like that this article is about a lot of what I learned in class and I could understand that content of what they were talking about. The idea for constructing a wetland I think is a great one, because it will help Iowa pollution and the environment by not destroying organism. The fact that  they people in Iowa taking a step to stop this big problem that happen in many other counties makes me feel good that we care about the environment in Iowa.  By reading this article it made me wonder if others countries trying to stop polluting the water.  Over all I thought that I get a lot out of this article and it makes me want to know what I can do to help out the projects and how the wetlands will turn out when they are all done.

History: H.L. Mencken article after the scopes trial

My Opinion on H.L. Mencken article after the scopes trial is that I agree with his argument that the meaning of religious freedom is misapprehended and how superstition cans inalienable rights.  For example most people say that they are religious but do not act like it. For an example someone could say that they are christen but do not do what christen should do.

In the article Mencken stats that “a person can have the right to teach their harbor and indulge their imbecilities and teach it on his children as long they pleases but does not have the right to force his inflict upon other person and should not be protected against free criticism of those who do not believe in what they do” that a person can have a superstitious inalienable right.

Mencken is right by saying that a person that  believe in a religion can make it outrageous and manipulate people in to believing them and most of them can’t explain why they did it. Like the people that take their believes to the extreme. Like for example Warren Jeff’s that came up with his own religions and made thousands of people to believe in it and then brainwash them in to doing things that were against the law and Jim jones that brainwashed and killed thousands of people.

During the trail Bryan was trying to forces the believes of religion in court and that Darrow was trying to explain that religion my not explain everything but by science we can try to explain somewhat of what the bible is trying to tell use. In my opinion I agree with what Mencken said that American can try to understand why the bible don’t always have the right answer, but that Darrow explains it in an hour. But if Darrow believed in homo neanderthalensis why have we not changed over the years we have been on earth?

In conclusion is that I agree with Menken article that religion can become corrupt a superstition can should not be force on people. My thoughts on the article were that  if Darrow believed in homo neanderthalensis why have we not changed over the years we have been on earth?  I also think that most of what we have grown from always going to the bible for very thing has changed and that what Mencken was staying in his article. Over all I think that religion vs. science is still a big factor in the United States today and that there will always be both side that agree with religion or sciences and there will be people who disagree.
